AICTE – Swanath Scholarship Scheme (Technical Diploma/Degree) 2023-24 is launched by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) with the aim of offering financial support to students enrolled in technical degree or diploma programs at recognized institutions. This scholarship is available to individuals who are orphaned, have lost their parents to COVID-19, or are dependents of armed forces and central paramilitary forces personnel who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Successful applicants will receive an annual scholarship amount of up to INR 50,000.

Eligibility Criteria of AICTE – Swanath Scholarship Scheme (Technical Diploma/Degree) 2023-24 :
Eligibility Criteria:
- Ward affected by COVID-19: Either or both parents deceased due to COVID-19
- Ward of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action (Shaheed)
- Enrolled in a degree/diploma level course in regular mode (1st/2nd/3rd/4th year) at an AICTE-approved institution
- Not a recipient of any central/state government/AICTE-sponsored scholarship
- Family income of less than INR 8,00,000 per annum
Benefits of AICTE – Swanath Scholarship Scheme (Technical Diploma/Degree) 2023-24 :
The selected candidates will receive Rs. 50,000 per annum for every year of study as a lump sum amount towards payment of college fees, purchase of computer, stationeries, books, equipment, software, etc. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges, and medical charges, etc.
Note:-
- In case a student is currently studying in the 2nd /3rd/4th year at degree level the duration of the scholarship will be reduced to 1/2/3 year respectively.
- Similarly, for students currently studying in the 2nd /3rd year at diploma level, the duration of the scholarship will be reduced to 1/2 year respectively.

- Bonafide certificate issued by the institution
- Class 12 or equivalent certificate
- Class 10 marksheet
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Current year income certificate issued by Competent Authority (for wards of armed forces and central paramilitary forces martyred in action)
- Death certificate of father/mother or both, explicitly mentioning that the death was due to COVID-19 (for candidates whose either or both parents died due to COVID-19)
- Death certificates of both father and mother (if available) for orphan candidates

Selection Criteria:
Candidates will be selected based solely on the merit of their qualifying examination for admission to the degree/diploma courses offered by AICTE-approved institutions. The selection criteria consider the percentage of marks obtained in the Class 12 or equivalent examination.
In the event of ties, the following methods will be used to resolve them:
1. Percentage of marks in Class 10 examination:
If ties persist after considering the qualifying examination percentile, candidates with a higher percentage of marks in the Class 10 examination will be given a higher rank.
2. Age:
If ties persist even after considering Class 10 examination percentiles, priority will be given to candidates with older age.
3. Annual family income:
If ties persist despite the above methods, candidates with a lower annual family income will be given a higher rank.
Terms and Conditions
- Failure to get promoted to the next class/level results in forfeiture of the scholarship.
- Scholarship renewal for the next year requires submission of renewal through the National Scholarship Portal, along with a passing certificate/marksheet and a letter from the Head of the Institution on the online portal.
- The gap period between the year of passing the qualifying examination and the session of admission in the diploma course should not exceed two years.
- Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected; only verified online applications will be considered for the scholarship award.
- The scholarship will not be granted to a candidate who failed or dropped out in a subsequent year.
- Aadhaar number is mandatory for applying for this scheme, and applications without the Aadhaar number will not be accepted.
- To convert Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to a percentage, use the multiplying factor 9.5 (CGPA X 9.5 gives the percentage).
- If both CGPA and total marks are provided in the marksheet, total marks will be considered for determining the percentage.
