Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Wards of States/UTs Police Personnel 2023-24 has been introduced by the Government of India. Eligibility Criteria of Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Wards of States/UTs Police Personnel 2023-24 :
- Pursuing first professional degree courses recognized by Government Regulatory Bodies.
- Courses include Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B.Pharm., B.Sc. (Nursing, Agriculture, etc), MBA, MCA, etc.
- Institution recognition by bodies such as AICTE, MCI, UGC.
- Minimum 60% marks in MEQ (Class 12/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent) for new applicants.
- Minimum 50% marks in each subsequent academic year for renewal.
- Grace year provided for renewal applications submitted late.
Note – The candidates who could not submit their application on time for renewal will be given a grace year for the same.
Benefits of Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Wards of States/UTs Police Personnel 2023-24 :
The scholarship provides financial assistance of INR 3,000 per month for girls and INR 2,500 per month for boys. The scholarship is payable for the entire duration of the course, or up to a maximum of 5 years, whichever is earlier.

- Students must achieve a minimum of 50% marks to renew the scholarship for subsequent years in the professional course.
- The scholarship can be awarded for up to 5 years based on the duration of the pursued course.
- Second-year entrants in professional/technical bachelor’s degree courses through lateral entry are eligible for the scholarship.
- Selected scholars will receive the scholarship amount directly into their bank accounts via PFMS (Public Finance Management System) under the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) program.
- Incomplete application forms and failure to attach required documents will result in application rejection.
- Applicants must provide mandatory mobile numbers and email addresses for communication about discrepancies or developments through SMS and email.
- Ineligible applicants under PMSS include those pursuing professional courses through correspondence/distance learning, receiving benefits from other scholarship schemes, or having previously availed PMSS scholarships.
- Applicants pursuing diploma courses, non-degree programs, master’s degrees (except MBA and MCA for the first professional course), and studying abroad are also ineligible.
- A change of course/college by a selected student with fresh admission in the subsequent academic year will lead to scholarship rejection.
