Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles for the year 2023-24 is designed to provide educational support to the dependents, widows, and children of personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Administered by the Welfare and Rehabilitation Board under the Ministry of Home Affairs, this program offers a total of 2,000 new scholarships, evenly distributed between male and female applicants (1,000 each). Successful male candidates will be granted a monthly financial assistance of INR 2,500, while female recipients will receive INR 3,000 per month.

Eligibility Criteria of Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles 2023-24 : 

  • Ward or widow of deceased Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) & Assam Rifles (AR) personnel who died in the line of duty, during election duty, or due to causes attributable to Government service.
  • Ward or widow of retired and serving CAPFs & AR Personnel (Personnel below Officer Rank).
  • Dependent ward of State Police Personnel martyred during Terror/Naxal attacks.
  • Pursuing a first professional degree program in Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.Sc. (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA, and MCA in a government-recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 60% marks in Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ) (Class 12/diploma/graduation or equivalent) for new applicants.
  • Passed each subsequent academic year of professional courses with a minimum of 50% marks for renewal. 

Note – The candidates who could not submit their application on time for renewal will be given a grace year for the same.

Benefits of Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles 2023-24 :

The scholarship provides financial assistance of INR 3,000 per month for girls and INR 2,500 per month for boys. The scholarship is payable for the entire duration of the course, or up to a maximum of 5 years, whichever is earlier

    • Studying abroad.
    • Rejection if there’s a change of course/college and fresh admission in the subsequent academic year.
