The NSP Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Pre-Matric 2023-24 is designed to support the education of students in classes 1-10 whose parents work in the Beedi, Cine, IOMC, or LSDM industries. This scholarship, provided by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, aims to prevent child labor in hazardous sectors. Eligibility Criteria of NSP Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Pre-Matric 2023-24 :
To qualify, applicants must:
- Student enrolled in Class 1-10
- Child of Beedi, Cine, IOMC, LSDM, or Mica mine worker, including Contract/Gharkhata workers
- Passed last qualifying exam on the first attempt
- Admitted to a recognized institution in India for general or technical education (medical, engineering, agricultural studies included)
- Total monthly family income below INR 10,000 (except for cine workers: not more than INR 8,000 per month or INR 1,00,000 per annum)

- Students receiving scholarships or stipends from other sources are not eligible for benefits under this scheme.
- Scholars must have a separate bank account, and in the case of a joint account, the scholar’s name should be listed first.
- Each child of the same worker must provide a distinct bank account number.
- Each scholar is required to provide a unique mobile number.
- Ineligible students include those pursuing the same stage of education in a different subject (e.g., B.Sc. after B.Com. or B.Com. after B.A.).
- Students completing their educational career in one professional line and seeking education in a different professional line (e.g., L.L.B. after B.T. or B.Ed.) are not eligible.
- Scholarship may be canceled if obtained through false statements or if the scholar discontinues studies.
- Changes in the subject or institution of study without prior approval can result in scholarship cancellation.
- Unsatisfactory progress, irregular attendance, or misconduct during the academic year may lead to scholarship termination.
- If the scholar’s parent(s) cease to be a Beedi/Mine/Cine worker, the scholarship may be canceled.
Note – If the scholars are found to have committed any one or more of the above after the scholarship amount has actually been paid, the amount shall be recovered forthwith from their parents.
