  • The selection process prioritizes poverty over academic marks. Applicants must submit an income certificate (as per para-11(ii)).
  • In cases where multiple applicants have the same income, preference is given based on the applicant’s ‘Date of Birth’ criteria, with senior applicants being preferred.

Selection Process for Renewal Applicants:

  • Renewal applicants are eligible for the scholarship if they have achieved a minimum of 50% in their previous year’s examinations at the same institute and in the same course.
  • To receive the scholarship, the renewal applicant’s application must be verified by all authorities designated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs and approved by State Governments/Union Territories.

NSP Scholarships Distribution Rule

  • Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) are recognized as minority communities under Section 2(c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
